Thai Garlic Pepper Chicken

Are you a big fan of garlic dishes? If yes. then this Thai dish ไก่ผัดกระเทียมพริกไทย (Thai garlic pepper chicken “Kai Pad Kratiem”) is for you!

Enjoy the aroma of garlic and the taste of tender and juicy chicken meat.

I recommend having it with jasmine rice, a fried egg, and a side vegetable such as sliced cucumber. Oh, and if you like fish sauce, have it with the sprinkle of พริกน้ำปลา (fish sauce and chile “Prik Nam Pla”).

Thai Garlic Pepper Chicken

Ingredients (For 2)

  • 150g. sliced chicken breast

  • 3 tbs. vegetable oil

  • 2 tbs. chopped garlic

  • 1 tbs. oyster sauce

  • 2 tsp. soy sauce

  • 2 tsp. fish sauce

  • 1 ½ tsp. sugar

  • ½ tsp. ground white pepper

  • ¼ cup water

  • 1 sliced cucumber (optional)

  • 1 coriander for decoration (optional)


  1. Set up the pan to medium heat. Add in vegetable oil and chopped garlic. Cook until the garlic is golden.

  2. Add in chicken meat. Stir until the meat is almost done. Add in oyster sauce, soy sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and ground white pepper. Cook the ingredients.

  3. Add in water. Stir until the chicken is done. Turn off the gas.

  4. Decorate the dish with coriander (optional) and sliced cucumber. Eat with jasmine rice.
