Best Street Food in Chiang Mai to Try - เลิศรสใต้ร่มมะเฟือง Lerd Rote Tai Rom Ma-Feuang
Delicious Thai-Chinese Home-cook style Seafood in Chiang Mai.
Watch the clip of my latest visit to the restaurant on TIKTOK
Tucked away in the residential area by the Ping river. You will feel like walking inside a local home for dinner. There’s a Ma-Fuang (star apple) tree at the restaurant, that’s where the name comes from.
What’s it famous for?
The restaurant is well known for its delicious Thai-Chinese style seafood, and home-cooked taste. The chef is an uncle who makes the dish one by one. You would see the fire coming out of the wok. I love watching!
The seafood is fresh and of great quality ie. if you order crab meat, it would come in a big chunk of size, not a tiny ant size like in some restaurants :D.
What to order?
Basically, everything is delicious here! But I would recommend ordering seafood dishes. Here’re some recommendations from the last time that I was there.
Stir fry clams with chili paste (It's may look spicy, but it's not really - maybe just a tiny bit on a Thai level)
Stir fry crab meats with black pepper
Stir fry prawn with chili and salt
Also, check out the board on the wall of today’s special recommendations, and any dishes with stars on the menu are highly recommended.
